“Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places in our soul.”
PlatoFEW THINGS HAVE THE POWER TO MOVE US LIKE MUSIC
Music transcends language and experience. Because music comes from God, it has the power to touch and inspire the deepest parts of our soul.
At the Dawson Music Academy, we teach students of every level, from never-have-played-before to mastering-my-instrument, and the quality of the instruction our teachers provide is exceptional. But we try to provide something much more meaningful than just technical proficiency.
We want to inspire in every student a life-long love of music, because it’s that love that has the power to make almost every aspect of life richer, more fulfilling, more rewarding.
For most of us, our strongest memories are often tied directly to a song or a band. And to hear just a few notes, even years later, can immediately take us back to a time or a place or a group of friends.
Studies show that studying music at a young age also helps develop the parts of the brain that control language and reasoning. It helps children score better on standardized tests and earn better grades in middle school and high school. It’s not an exaggeration to say that music makes life better.
